What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)?

PPF is a clear, durable film that protects your vehicle from damage caused by rocks, gravel, and insects. At The WrapStars, we use STEK Paint Protection Film for unmatched clarity and durability. The film resists staining and yellowing and features a special coating that self-heals minor scratches. However, deeper scratches may require professional attention.

What is a Vinyl Wrap?

Vinyl wraps allow you to change your vehicle’s color or design by applying a thin, adhesive vinyl film to the surface. This temporary option is perfect for advertising or personalizing your vehicle without altering the paint. Wraps can be easily removed, returning your vehicle to its original condition.

Will PPF or Vinyl Wraps damage my vehicle’s paint?

Both PPF and vinyl wraps are designed to protect your paint, not damage it. However, if your vehicle has repainted panels or damaged paint, there’s a risk that the film may peel the paint during installation or removal. The WrapStars cannot guarantee against paint damage if the vehicle’s finish is compromised.

What can I expect in terms of appearance?

At The WrapStars, we take pride in providing high-quality installations, but it’s important to understand that wraps are a film, not paint. Small imperfections such as minor seams or dimples may occur, especially on complex surfaces. However, our team works hard to minimize any irregularities.

Will you need to remove parts from my vehicle?

In some cases, parts such as mirrors, door handles, and trim may need to be removed to ensure the cleanest application. For full-color change wraps, removing these parts helps us cover every edge for a seamless finish. We avoid removing large components, like bumpers, unless absolutely necessary.

Do you need to drive my vehicle?

Generally, we only drive your vehicle in and out of the shop. However, in cases where parts are removed and reassembled, we may need to test for proper fitment, clear warning lights, or check for any new noises.

What if my vehicle has bodywork or repainted panels?

Repainted or repaired surfaces can be more prone to peeling during the wrap or PPF installation process. Unfortunately, The WrapStars cannot guarantee protection for aftermarket work, including repainted panels, bondo repairs, or other modifications.

How do I care for my wrap or PPF?

For PPF, wait 24 hours after installation before washing your car. Minor scratches will self-heal with heat, but be sure to remove stains quickly. Vinyl wraps should only be hand washed with mild soap. Avoid automatic car washes, as the pressure and brushes can damage the vinyl. Also, be cautious of gas spills and parking in areas exposed to harsh water conditions, as these can stain the wrap.

Window Tint and Windshield Protection

We offer STEK Window Films, which block harmful UV rays and reduce heat without requiring dark tints. Installed with care, our tinting offers a sleek look while protecting your vehicle’s interior. Windshield protection film helps prevent chips and cracks but may have minor imperfections that are typical with such installations.

Paint Correction and Ceramic Coatings

Before applying ceramic coatings, we perform paint correction to remove scratches and imperfections. Ceramic coatings provide added protection and ease of maintenance, but they must be cared for properly to preserve their hydrophobic properties. We recommend annual maintenance to keep the coating performing at its best.

Warranty Information

The WrapStars offers a 2-year warranty on both materials and labor for all vinyl wrap and PPF installations. This warranty does not cover damage from road debris, accidents, or improper care, including automatic car washes. Our Ceramic Coatings also come with warranties based on the product’s lifespan, with required maintenance to keep the protective properties in place.
